ABOUT US

Are you a woman who loves to sing?

Then we have a place for you!

Southwest Vocal Project is an award winning, community chorus of women who love to share their joy of vocal harmony.  We are a member of Sweet Adelines International®, a nonprofit music education association and one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women.

Southwest Vocal Project performs regularly around the valley at civic, social, and charitable events.  Our singers are women from all walks of life who love the camaraderie of the chorus and the ringing sound that is unique to barbershop style harmony.

Our director Cary Burns takes great joy in sharing his wealth of musical knowledge, enthusiasm and love for the barbershop art form.  Cary has been involved with music since early childhood including directing and coaching jazz choirs, barbershop choruses, chamber choirs, mixed choruses, and many other ensembles and performers all over the United States and Canada.

We love to share our style of vocal harmony.  If you enjoy singing, Southwest Vocal Project might be the place for you!  We welcome guests at all of our rehearsals at Resurrection Catholic Church (no affiliation), 3201 S. Evergreen Rd., Tempe, AZ. That’s just north of Southern Avenue between Dobson and Price Roads. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7 to 10pm each week.
